[The following dialogue exists within a dream. Inside of a room where everything in there is black, and the sound of jazz music can be heard playing from an old phonograph. Soul is conversing with a nameless demon, who seems to know more about him and this room than he ever wishes to understand.]

It's been awhile, Soul.

Shut up. I'm not here because I chose to be.

Hmhm. Is that so? You wanted power because you felt that you were weak. Isn't that a choice?

... It's not a choice that I made for you. Don't act so cocky.

But there's no turning back now. Come on, Soul. Don't be so selfish all the time. I can give you the strength and the power that you need. Just leave it to me.

I don't need your help. I'll obtain strength with my own hands, and not because of some cheap shortcut. That's not real strength.

How disappointing. You'd rather make it hard on yourself when you already know the steps?

Heh. If I know where it is, then I can avoid it.

Hm. That may be true. But Soul, you can't keep ignoring it like it isn't there forever. You'll want to come to it eventually.

Don't put words in my mouth. You don't know what's in my head.

What a shame. I give you music and we're still not friends. ...It's time to go, Soul. But we'll meet again. We always do.

Nngh. ... AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!

[There is the sound of a bedsheet being fiercely shifted, and the sound of Soul gasping for air.] Hah... hah...

...

Mmrgh. [He starts coughing violently into one of his hands, before doubling over. An empty retching sound follows, but nothing comes of it. He's already been there before.]

Hah... Che. [He flops backwards onto the bed, and is quiet for a minute more until he speaks to himself again.]

This sucks.

"I think I can deal..." Maybe so, but when will this garbage end? Mm?

[Soul notices that the communicator has been left on beside his bedside. He must have been trying to keep up with things earlier, but fell asleep. There's the sound of a light facepalm before he goes to pick it up.]

Aah. Sorry you had to hear that... I just had a bad dream, that's all. I'm fine.

Nngh! Well, maybe not completely. Heh. ~~This is so gross, but man am I hungry.~~

My shoulder is feeling better, and so I decided to come back to the apartments from the clinic not long after that last message was recorded. I didn't want to waste their space.
Heh. I... guess that I caught a bug somewhere along the way. But I should be better in a few days. It's probably just a flu bug, and so I'll get it out of my system eventually. Just need to get some rest for awhile.

[Sigh] Still, this is boring as hell. I don't even have any manga to read.

[[ooc Soul came back to Death Scythe's apartment for awhile, where... uh... Stein probably tried to run him out with a good excuse. But with that done, he finally got his chip removed and is starting to feel the icky side effects from it.
